It compares the Spec Score against the bike's live new-bike listing price and relevant market baselines, so discounted bikes with strong builds rise to the top. In short: Spec Score tells you how good the build is; Spec Value tells you how good the deal is. The point is to make sale inventory easier to understand — a $6,000 bike marked down to $3,999 might be a genuine value or it might just have a mediocre build with an inflated MSRP.
